2001 News

--Dec 18, 2001--

Cash Money Records will be releasing the soundtrack for the new Wesley Snipes movie Undisputed. Hopefully there will be a new TQ track on it since the soundtrack is supposed to feature most of the Cash Money Millionaires and it would be a great opportunity to show-off one of their newly signed artists. Other Cash Money albums coming in 2002 include Big Tymers and newly signed artists Boo & Gotti.

--Dec 7, 2001--

Sorry for the lack of updates, I been real busy lately. I got a few e-mails this week about a new TQ & Sarah Connor song called Magic Ride (Whatever U Wish 4). It's from Sarah's new album Green Eyed Soul. I added a clip to the Sounds page. Thank You to everybody who e-mails me with news, I get about 100 e-mails a day (mostly people trying to sell something), so I don't get time to go through it all everyday and reply to everyone, but every e-mail is usefull and appreciated. The guy on The Grind prerelease is one of The Homies (thanks to a couple of people who e-mailed me and pointed that out). What can I say, I'm a TQ fan not a Homies fan : ) .  I will add clips of Extasy Jones feat. Case and Our Life feat. Warren G sometime soon. I'm sorry I can not give you guys any of the full unreleased songs, they are not mine to give. I shouldn't even be posting clips : ) There is also a TQ mp3 bootleg floating around on the internet called TQ - Coming Of Age (Bootleg). It's made up of songs from his Coming Of Age albums and a few others from singles and soundtracks. Nothing new, but for those who dont have the Coming Of Age albums you might want to check it out.

--Nov 27, 2001--

Added lots of TQ Photos and a clip to the Sounds page of The Grind (pre-release version) featuring one of The Homies instead of Warren G. If you know e-mail me. TQ recorded a song for The Second Coming called Our Life which features Warren G. It's a very good song so it was most likely not released due to sampling problems. The song contains samples from Prince's song Pop Life. 2pac and Ja Rule both have songs that sample the same Prince song and they are also unreleased. Prince must not want people to sample that song.

--Nov 16, 2001--

The tracklist for the Thug Lifestyles and Blazin' soundtracks have been released. Thug Lifestyles includes the song Life Of  A G. Blazin' includes Take Me With U. Both songs were on the Headbeatin Compilation. Lyrics, Discography & Production Notes Updated. TQ's new album on Cash Money Records will be released around Spring 2002. TQ does not appear on the new Mack 10 album. At least not on the version that was leaked onto the internet this week. I've created a page for TQ's new album were I will put any information as soon as it becomes available.

--Oct 31/Nov 1, 2001--

Added clips to the sounds page from a 12" single TQ made when he was in the group Coming Of Age, the single is for a song called Comton Long Beach Style. It was released as a single but I don't think it was on any album. It has 6 mixes of the song. TQ only sings the chorus and background vocals. Also added clips from the 12" single Baby Be Still. Remixes of it include extra background vocals by TQ. Updated the discography.

If you check out www.Damizza.com it mentions that Damizza was scheduled to hit the studio and produce some new songs for TQ's first album on Cash Money Records. Some other websites to check out; Blazin': www.blazinthemovie.com / Thug Lifestyles: www.thuglifestyles.com / Cash Money Records: www.cashmoney-records.com

more news soon...

--Oct 12, 2001--

The Blazin' - Soundtrack which features a new TQ + Shade Sheist song, and the Thug Lifestyles - Soundtrack which features a new TQ + Vandalz song, have both been delayed until November 6th. You can now pre-order them at most major online cd stores. (cdnow, bestbuy, towerrecords). I will post clips and more info as soon as possible.

Added a few new TQ pictures including a new pic with Mack 10. Updated a little bit of everything. I was reading up on some Cash Money Records sites and I read a post that Baby (one of the founders of Cash Money Records) said TQ was one of his favorite singers of all time. TQ said a while back he only had 5 songs to record and his album would come out this October. Well it's not coming out this October, Mack 10's album is coming out before his and it's is set for October 30th. Hopefully it will come out in November or December. I think it will after what Baby said, I'm sure he's next on the list. Baby was on TQ's track Dirty (also called Dirty Home). TQ was also on the Cash Money Records album Baller Blockin on the song I Got To Go. So far all the songs TQ did with Cash Money are pretty damn good: I Got To Go, Dirty with Baby, My Life with Juvenile, and Supastar with Official. Lil' Wayne appeared on TQ's song Ride On which wasn't that great of a song but that was only supposed to be a demo song. If TQ can make all his songs with lyrics and beats as good as these then I think his next album will be his best... even though I don't care for Cash Money.

I'm still waiting for the Mack 10 track list for his new album Bang Or Ball to be announced, because I'm sure TQ will probably be on a song. If so I'll post a clip as soon as its available. About the Blazin' and Thug Lifestyles compilations, they have not been released yet, they must have been delayed or cancelled.

I do have a new TQ song featuring Case called Extasy Jones, but it came from a promo cd on Epic Records. He is no longer with Epic Records so I don't know what album it's from and if it's going to be released. I'll post a clip later.

--Sept 10, 2001--

In the new issue of The Source magazine there is a picture of Mack 10 and TQ down in Florida throwing up the westside signal with their hands. Underneath the picture it says: "Mack 10 and TQ throw up the W's for Cash Money in Florida" Mack 10's new album Bang Or Ball is due out on Cash Money Records Oct. 30th. TQ may be featured on the album, no tracklist or info on the album is available yet. I will post the pic when i get time to scan it. Also one of the Lil Wayne videos features TQ. I forget the name of the video though...

--Sept 4, 2001--

Rapper Shade Sheist reportedly finished his debut album last month and TQ is listed as a guest appearance on the album. TQ has worked with Sheist on the songs Bounce (Damizza album), Take Me With U (Headbeaterz album) and supposedly another song on the upcoming compilation Blazin'. Speaking of Blazin'... it and the Thug Lifestyles album have both been delayed until Sept 25th. No release date for the Shade Sheist album yet.

--Aug 25, 2001--

I'll be getting a new TQ song in a week or two, I think it's from his new album. I'll post more info when I get it.

Sounds Update: Added the full U.S. Promotional Cassette Sampler for The Second Coming to the sounds. It has a intro/outro spoken by TQ and also different versions of GHETTO, Dirty, and How Can I Be Down. GHETTO has a different beat, intro, and is sang slower. Dirty just has a different beat. How Can I Be Down features Cam'Ron, not Ja Rule.

I have more updates and sounds but I'm biting my time and waiting a bit so there will always be some updates. FortuneCity.com shut down my mp3 sounds, so I don't know when I'll find somewhere to put them back up, when I do I have a bunch of TQ Instrumentals and Acappellas.

--Aug 17, 2001--

In the new issue of  The Source magazine there is an advertisement for "2 Must have albums" the first album is called Blazin' and includes a TQ + Shade Sheist song. The second album is called Thug Lifestyles and includes a TQ + Vandalz song. The advertisment says they are all new songs and the albums both come out on September 11. www.thuglifestyles.com   Also I noticed Juvenile and Official are both on Cash Money/Universal Records. So it looks like TQ may have signed with Cash Money Records. When the albums hit the stores I'll have to pick one up and read the credits to see what Company TQ appears courtesy of.

--Aug 9, 2001--

TQ is featured on 2 new songs, the first is from Juvenile's new album Project English. The song is called My Life. The album is due out August 21st. The second is from Official's new album Tellin Our Story. The song is called Supastar. I don't have a release date for that one. Go to the Sounds page to listen to a sample of each.

--July 28, 2001--

I was reading up on madeniggaz.net the other day and saw a letter somebody sent to Tupac's mother, Afeni Shakur. The letter was based on opinions of the fans and what they wanted to see on the next 2pac album, including who they would like to see guest appearances by. The letter named Jon B, TQ and Yukmouth. 2pac's next double album of unreleased material recorded before he died is set to be released sometime in November. Producers have been remixing tracks for the album to give them an updated sound. Anyways, I was very happy to see that the letter mentioned TQ, because he stated in an interview a while back he had worked on a couple of his unreleased tracks, so maybe this next album may have one if not all of those songs. I know they supposedly only had around 150 songs and if I've counted correct there isn't but around 90 songs left. In case you missed the article with TQ here is a clip- He was asked if there was someone special he still wanted to work with and he said: "Yes, but unfortunately that isn't possible anymore because that person has already died: 2pac. He's my favourite artist. The greatest rapper of our time. I had the satisfaction of working with his material which he had recorded before he died. I have made a couple of tracks with that material. I'm very well aquinted with his mother, but unfortunately it isn't possible for me to work together with him anymore."

Added video clips of Superbitches (Rated XXX), Imagine That, For All My Hustlers, and Bye Bye Baby (Uncut Extended Version). Videos

--July 12, 2001--

Bigg update! Added 2 minute clips (in Real Audio) from  both the Coming Of Age albums of which TQ was the lead singer. These albums are very hard to find and out-of-print. TQ basically sings every song and the rest of the group just sings the hooks and choruses (if they even sing at all). The first album was made in 93 and the style definately sounds outdated. But it's still interesting to hear TQ and what he sang like when he was about 17. Not a bad album, just a little too soft for me. The second album  (made in 95) is about as soft but it's not as outdated sounding as the first. If I was a big r&b fan I would probably love the album. TQ was about 19 when the second album came out. You may recognize the song Forever, the group LFO used it on their album. click here to go listen to the albums.

--June 28, 2001--

Everything updated. 3 interview video clips added to the Videos section. I been trying to upload Superbitches and Ride On instrumental in but the server I use isn't allowing me to, even though I have others up there -but i'll find some way to get them up soon. As you can see I'm starting a few more sections, and I'll be adding info & stuff in a few days on the Coming Of Age albums  (TQ was the lead singer of this group). Also I'll try to add clips of Superbitches, Imagine That, and For All My Hustlers videos within the next week or two.

--June 20, 2001--

I added the track list and who appears on each song of the new Headbeaterz Compilation. It is available in the discography. Inside the album booklet it says TQ's nickname is Squeeze. TQ produced or co-produced every song on the album with the help of Jay. TQ is planning on releasing The Second Coming in the USA sometime in 2001. Hopefully it will come out and feature a few new songs not on the import versions. I updated the lyrics section but its still under construction. More updates coming soon!

The soundtrack for Down To Earth comes out on Feb. 13, 2001. The album will be released under Sony/Epic Records. TQ was supposed to have a song made for this soundtrack but since he left Sony who knows if it will still be on the soundtrack? I hope it is. The web site is currently under construction you can view it here:   www.downtoearthmovie.com

--Jan 09, 2001--
