Terrance Quaites, called TQ, stormed on top of the charts, one year ago. With his new album "The Second Coming", TQ wants to prove that he isn´t something like a "One-Hit-Wonder" and he´s got some nice guests like Ja Rule, E-40 and Warren G. on the record.
Generation S.: You delivered a very melodical, almost quiet album. Why?
TQ: Life isn´t as easy as it seems. I´ve went through real real trouble and that´s because I needn´t to have some gunshots in my music. I just wanted to make good Soul. And in my lyrics I talk about the daily life, about the life on the streets, but without being depressed. Because I wanna give a good time to all my fans, while they´re listening to my music.

G.S.: Why is the album called "The Second Coming"?
TQ: I liked the easy touch of this line. Besides it is my second record. So, it´s matching. Title aren´t really important, only the content is it, that is important.
.
G.S.: What is your new single "Daily" about?
TQ: It is about a really bad day. And the message is that everybody knows bad days like this, but that they all end at midnight and everybody has to create the following one better.
.
G.S.: At the moment, it´s really "in fashion" to cover some classics. How do you think about this development?
TQ: It´s terrible. But that´s the music business of today. It´s all about making money without too much of work. But it also shows the quality of the original songs.
.
G.S.: Many Hip-Hop musicians are complaining of the Rap/Hip-Hop in America. They say that it wasn´t as bad as now anytime before. Do you think so, too?
TQ: Definitly. There is so much crap unbelievable. That´s making the Hip-Hop music going down. It´s not more about quality it´s all about cash and money. And all these business-men don´t care about it!
.
G.S.: But what´s the solution? Do people need something like a "Rap-Minister"?
TQ: Maybe it could be the solution. Yeah, this could be possible. But there´d be another problem:Who should be that? Who wants to sacrifice itself? Who´s got that respect?
.
G.S.: Public Enemy?
TQ: Too beautiful to be true!
.
G.S.: Do you take a look into the internet, sometimes?
TQ: Not very often. But I see that there is an comparable revolution with the internet at the moment how it was with Rap-music, 10 or 20 years ago. But I´m afraid that it all will soon be over, because soon there it will be all about cash, cash, cash, too.
